When you go to drop the bulb in the soil, you can only do so if the hole you have dug is of specific depth. Too deep of a hole will trap your flower, and cause it to decay rather quickly. Last but not least, we have the soil in which you plant the bulb in. The soil needs to be rich in nutrients if the plant is going to grow correctly. Using store-bought soil isn’t such a bad idea if you aren’t sure what condition your current soil is in. Certain types of bulbs can also be helped with certain types of fertilizer, although this can differ based on the plant you are set on growing. Be careful, as some types may damage your bulbs.
